BASED ON GENES

Terms and Licence Conditions

Terms for the Based on Genes preview and one-off full purchase.

Effective: 14 August 2026

1. Provider and payment

Linus Ammer, handelnd unter Abakos-Systeme, Schönrain 10, 84152 Mengkofen, Germany, email contact@basedongenes.com

The digital content is sold once through Paddle as merchant of record. The normal contracting party for purchase, payment, receipts, indirect transaction taxes and refunds is Paddle.com Market Limited; in the United States it is Paddle.com Inc., and in Canada Paddle.com (Canada) Ltd.. The entity shown in Checkout controls. Paddle's buyer terms are available at https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.

2. Product

The full purchase covers the specifically versioned local calculation of 32 personal population-genetic scores: one Hunter–Farmer score, nine hunter-group scores, eleven culture scores and eleven individual scores. It also includes a full-access licence, contract confirmation and an importable local product package without raw genome data and without a result PDF. It is neither a subscription nor an ongoing hosting service.

3. Free preview and licences

One confirmed email address may unlock exactly one freely chosen score. The first successfully confirmed choice is fixed. The signed preview licence applies to that score, product release and the same genetic person recognised locally, and can be imported with the matching genome. The full-access licence covers all scores for the same genetic person and takes priority over preview access. GeoGens and Based on Genes licences are not interchangeable.

4. Scientific meaning

The scores are empirically calibrated population-genetic affinity and comparison values, not literal ancestry proportions. Percentiles describe position within the identified modern reference panel. The Hunter–Farmer score is a find-site-weighted rank probability. Displayed coverage and uncertainty notices must be considered. The product is scientific and informational, and is not medical advice or a diagnosis.

5. Immediate supply and withdrawal

In the EU, EEA and United Kingdom, supply before the end of the fourteen-day withdrawal period starts only after the consumer expressly requests it, acknowledges the possible loss of the right and receives the contract confirmation on a durable medium. Australia, New Zealand and Canada do not provide a single general statutory return right for this one-off purchase merely because the customer changes their mind. Mandatory consumer and conformity rights remain unaffected everywhere.

6. Australia and New Zealand

No term excludes non-excludable consumer guarantees or remedies under the Australian Consumer Law or the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act and Fair Trading Act. The genome file and result remain on the device; only the order and payment data identified below is processed across borders.

7. Canada

Before a Canadian order, the provider identity and contact address, product and system requirements, price, tax, currency, payment terms, start of supply, cancellation and refund rules and other restrictions are displayed clearly and in a retainable form. The customer can correct entries and accept or decline the contract immediately before formation.

The purchaser name is collected only for Canadian orders and shown on the contract copy. The copy is supplied in a retainable form within fifteen days and in practice before paid analysis begins. All mandatory provincial cancellation and refund rights remain unaffected.

The genome file and genetic results are not disclosed to the provider. Local analysis begins only after separately recorded express consent.
